Accommodation
People that will stay at the Congress Centre do not need to reserve a room in advance. The hotel is already reserved for the CA 16227 MCM and when arriving there, you just need to tell at the reception that you are Participants of the COST Meeting.
Cost of the Room in the Congress Centre is about 20€.
To Ohrid Aiport
Ohrid Airport is the closest airport to Ohrid.
People flying directly to Ohrid airport would have to take a taxi to Ohrid (or to the hotel), as there are no public transports from there to Ohrid.
To Skopje Airport
From Skopje airport you will have to take the shuttle bus that will take you to Skopje bus station first (should take off at the second stop (out of three)), and from there you have to take a bus to Ohrid (about 3 hours by bus from Skopje)*.
The bus station in Skopje is at exactly the same place as the train station.

* Timetable of buses Skopje – Ohrid:
5:30, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 12:30, 14:00, 14:45, 16:00, 16:30, 18:30, 19:30.
Timetable of buses Ohrid – Skopje:
5:00, 5:30, 7:15, 7:30, 9:30, 10:45, 11:45, 12:45, 15:00, 16:30, 17:00, 17:45, 18:00, 19:00, 20:30.
Suggestion: people arriving to Ohrid bus station from Skopje, should reserve there the return ticket (avoid the last minute!). Participants should reserve the place and find out if there is any change in the schedule (usually not, but sometimes it happens)
Currency
Please note that the currency used in Macedonia is Macedonian denar (MKD). Make sure you do your currency exchange in the airport or before arriving to the country
Visa
EU member countries and signatories of the Schengen Agreement have the right to enter the Republic of Macedonia with a valid ID card. However, please check if you need a visa to enter in Macedonia in this site: Visa
Group Activities
Tuesday, 2nd October: Boat Tour and Dinner
– Boarding on boat from hotel’s dock at 6pm.
– Arriving at Ohrid’s dock (in the city centre) about half an hour later.
– Making a city tour (2-2.5 hours) with a professional guide to see the most important Ohrid places including St. Kaneo Church: http://www.exploringmacedonia.com/church-st-jovan-kaneo.nspx
– Social dinner at one of the best restaurants by the Ohrid lake at 8:30 (centre of Ohrid)
– Returning to the hotel late in the evening by boat
Each Participant will pay for this activity. The amount expected is 35€. Please note that you will be reimbursed for 20€ after submitting your claim.
Please confirmation to the activities is required before 30th of September.
